How do I know Eviate meets the highest quality & certification standards?
We are lucky enough to have partners like Air France-KLM, Samsonite & Dutch telecom giant KPN. Together we went through all the steps needed to develop Eviate eTag & eTrack into high quality products that meet FAA, IATA and all other required standards.
The connectivity packages explained
Eviate eTrack comes with 2 months of free connectivity, which start on the first day of use. If you want to enjoy eTrack for a longer period of time, you can add either 5 return flights, 1 year or 2 years of connectivity at a discount. Example: if you buy 1 year of additional connectivity, this will be added to the 2 months of free connectivity. Effectively you will be able to use the device for 14 months.
The 5 return flights package will start automatically after the two months free period. The return flights include connections and even 'open jaw' routes. The 5 flights will not expire over time.
Can I use Eviate eTrack without a connectivity package?
Eviate eTrack makes sure you always know where your bag is no matter where you are. To do this, it connects to GSM networks worldwide. Just like your phone. So yes, a data package is required for the use of Eviate eTrack. We offer different discounted data packages, so there is always one fitting your needs.
Is Eviate eTag airline dependent?
Yes. The barcode information displayed by Eviate eTag, can only be generated by airline check in systems. We are connecting many airlines as we speak, so we should be able to accommodate your needs shortly. Please fill out the pre-order form and let us know which airline you would like to use eTag on.
Can I use Eviate eTrack on any airline?
You can use Eviate eTrack no matter what airline you fly. Because eTrack's software is connected to existing airline baggage software, staff members of any airline in the world know where your bag is and can act when something is wrong.
Can I use eTag or eTrack separately?
eTag & eTrack work perfectly as a team, but you can also use the devices separately. For instance, you can track just your bag with eTrack during travelling or otherwise. Alternatively, you can choose to just label your baggage electronically using eTag. In both examples, the device will communicate with your smartphone.
How much will Eviate eTag cost?
Eviate eTag will become available for cash or frequent flyer miles via partner airlines. We expect list pricing of Eviate eTag to be substantially lower than Eviate eTrack.
How do you switch GSM off during flight?
eTrack features an Auto Flight Mode (patent pending) to comply with airline regulations and save battery power while in flight. Thanks to an algorithm which took our engineers two years to develop, the system actually understands when it’s on board of an airplane. It goes to sleep as soon as the doors of the aircraft are closed. And wakes up automatically when they are opened again.
How do you determine the position of bags?
Eviate eTrack generally uses assisted GPS (general localisation through GSM followed by precise localisation through GPS). Where this is unavailable we use GSM triangulation.
Is Eviate a FastTrack Company owned brand?
Yes indeed. Eviate is a consumer brand owned by FastTrack Company, a Dutch/British technology company which has partnerships with Air France/KLM, Samsonite and the Dutch telco KPN.
